The Traitors 2 confirmed list: Shweta Tiwari, Fukra Insaan, Kullu in KJo's show
Karan Johar has unveiled the first promo of The Traitors 2 as fresh contestant names emerge. The line-up widens the celebrity mix for another season built on strategy and deception.
After unveiling the first promo of The Traitors 2, the makers have confirmed Munawar Faruqui and Mallika Sherawat as contestants. India Today has now exclusively learnt that television star Shweta Tiwari, YouTuber Abhishek Malhan, aka Fukra Insaan, and comedian Aditya Kulshrestha, popularly known as Kullu, are also part of Karan Johar's reality show.
The Indian adaptation of the American reality show launched last year and immediately became a fan favourite. The second season is set tp premiere on August 13, with 21 celebrities from the entertainment industry coming together for a game of strategy and deception.
India Today has exclusively learnt that popular television actor Shweta Tiwari will also be seen as one of the contestants. Earlier, the actor participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and also won Bigg Boss 4. The second confirmed name is Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan. A popular YouTuber, Abhishek made his reality show debut with Bigg Boss OTT 2 and ended up as the first runner-up. Joining them on the show will also be comedian Aditya Kulshrestha, better known as Kullu. A popular name in the comedy circuit, Kullu also made his acting debut alongside Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan, in Loveyapa.
The shoot for The Traitors 2 took place at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer in March. The cast, along with host Karan Johar, filmed for around two weeks. As per reports, actor Rhea Chakraborty, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Shalini Passi and veteran actor Dalip Tahil will also be part of the show. Fukra Insaan's BB OTT competitor and winner Elvish Yadav, TV actor Rubina Dilaik, Splitsvilla winner Soundous Moufakir, actors Krystle Dsouza and Parul Gulati, actor-producer Harman Baweja and Indian cricketer Shubman Gill's sister Shahneel Gill will also compete for the title.
Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment will produce the season, taking over from BBC Studios. The team said in a statement, "The first season of The Traitors ignited a nationwide obsession. It proved that Indian audiences are hungry for reality content that challenges their intellect, keeps them on the edge of their seats, and refuses to play by the old rulebook. We're thrilled to bring audiences a second season that's bigger, bolder, and more dramatic while staying true to the raw, unpredictable, and psychologically gripping essence that made the show a phenomenon. Having redefined the reality genre in India, the upcoming season is set to raise the bar yet again."
