This video predates the CJP march and is from Gaya, Bihar, where an angry mob attempted to set a vehicle on fire following a road accident on July 16.
The Parliament march on July 20 saw violence as protesters and policemen clashed. A video of a man in Muslim attire trying to set fire to the petrol tank of a car has now gone viral on social media. Those sharing this clip claimed that it shows a Cockroach Janta Party supporter during the protest.
The video shows a vandalised black Mahindra Thar surrounded by an angry mob and a man, allegedly a 29-year-old NEET student, trying to throw a burning matchstick into the fuel tank through the inlet. A cop is also seen trying to stop the man from doing it.

OUR PROBE
Using Google Lens, we found the same clip featured on CNN News18 and MoneyControl’s Instagram accounts on July 18. Per the caption, this incident took place in Bihar following an accident.
A subsequent keyword search led us to a Dainik Bhaskar report. According to it, a Mahindra Thar collided with a motorcycle and an auto-rickshaw in Gaya on Thursday. Two young men riding the motorcycle were seriously injured. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle had a Bharatiya Janata Party sticker in front.
Reportedly, locals claimed that a woman was driving the car, and she was allowed to leave in the presence of police. However, the police did not officially confirm these allegations or the vehicle's political affiliation. City SDPO Saroj Kumar said that two people were injured in the road accident and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Bimlendu, India Today’s stringer in the area, confirmed that the incident took place near the Gaya Civil Lines police station on July 16. After the accident, a crowd had gathered; some anti-social elements had started pelting stones. Later, the angry mob attempted to set the car on fire. The police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. A case was registered by the police against the owner and the driver of the car, alongside those who attempted to set the vehicle on fire.
Therefore, it is evident that an unrelated video from Gaya, Bihar, was falsely shared as a CJP protester trying to set a car on fire.
