Muslim man arrested for posing as Hindu, marrying minor at temple in Jharkhand
Police in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district have arrested Manowar Ansari after allegations that he posed as a Hindu, exploited a minor and married her at a temple.

A Muslim man has been arrested in Jharkhand's Sahibganj district for allegedly concealing his identity, luring a girl into a relationship, sexually exploiting her and marrying her at a temple after posing as a Hindu, police said.
The accused, identified as Manowar Ansari, allegedly introduced himself to the girl as 'Manohar' to hide his identity. He was arrested and sent to judicial custody after the girl's mother lodged a complaint with the police.
According to the FIR, the incident came to light on July 15, when the minor left home saying she was going to school. At around 11.30 am, her mother was informed that her daughter had been molested. On reaching Barhet, she allegedly learnt that the accused had taken the girl to the Shivgadi Temple, where he married her.
The minor's mother further alleged that the accused had been harassing her daughter for some time. She claimed that on June 29, Ansari had allegedly persuaded the minor to accompany him to Ranchi, where he established physical relations with her.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the accused on Thursday. The minor was later produced before a magistrate, where her statement was recorded in the presence of her mother and maternal uncle.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
