Delhi Metro shuts 16 key stations amid CJP protest: Check details

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has temporarily closed four major metro stations in the national capital due to security arrangements amid Congress protests. The move has been taken on the advice of security agencies, with services at the affected stations remaining suspended until further instructions.

The affected stations are Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat. While entry and exit have been suspended at these stations, commuters can still use the interchange facility at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat.

WHICH METRO STATIONS ARE CLOSED?

According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the following 16 metro stations have been closed for passenger entry and exit until further instructions due to security arrangements:

• The stations will remain closed until further notice.

INTERCHANGE FACILITY REMAINS AVAILABLE

Despite the closures, passengers can continue to change trains at Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat. However, commuters will not be allowed to enter or exit these stations.

Passengers travelling through central Delhi are advised to:

• Plan alternate routes before starting their journey.

• Expect delays and increased security checks.

• Follow updates issued by the DMRC and Delhi Police.

The DMRC has said the stations will reopen once security agencies give clearance and normal operations can resume.
