Left Rs 3 crore job to travel: Meet Vimarsh Razdan, co-founder of Kusha Kapila's brand
Vimarsh Razdan, co-founder of Kusha Kapila's Underneat, quit his Rs 3 crore-per-year job after 13 years of intense work and took a year-long travel break, which transformed his perspective on career and work-life balance.

Vimarsh Razdan, co-founder and CEO of Kusha Kapila’s shapewear brand Underneat, recently shared a personal career lesson on LinkedIn — revealing how he walked away from a high-paying job to take a year-long break and travel the world.
Razdan revealed that after 13 years of intense work, where 18 to 20-hour workdays had become routine, he decided to step away from his 3 crore-per-annum job. The decision surprised many around him, with some even questioning why he would leave such a lucrative opportunity.
FROM WORKING 20-HOUR DAYS TO CHOOSING A YEAR OF TRAVEL
Sharing his journey on LinkedIn, Razdan said that for years, his life revolved around work, with home becoming a place only to rest between long working hours.
“For 13 years of my life, I only went home to sleep. I used to work 18-20-hour days, and it became normal for me,” he wrote.
However, one day, he decided to make a change. Leaving behind his demanding role and a significant salary package, Razdan took a year off to travel across Europe, visiting places such as Iceland, Croatia and Paris.
He said the experience changed the way he looked at work and life, helping him understand the importance of balance beyond professional achievements.
A CAREER SPANNING FASHION, MANAGEMENT AND ENREPRENEURSHIP
Razdan’s professional journey began in the fashion industry. He studied Post Graduate Diploma in Garment Manufacturing Technology (PGDGMT) at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi, from 1999 to 2001. Later, he pursued Business Administration and Management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta from 2016 to 2017.
He spent 16 years at Orient Craft from 2001 to 2017, eventually becoming the Senior Vice President, Operations. After leaving the company, he served as Director at Parisian Boudoir, Paris, from May 2017 to April 2021.
Razdan has also been associated with Attic Salt as Director since December 2017 and has been serving as Director at underneat.in since January 2025.
BUILDING 'UNDERNEAT' AFTER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
With years of experience in fashion and business operations, Razdan co-founded Underneat with actor and content creator Kusha Kapila. The brand focuses on shapewear and innerwear solutions designed for modern consumers.
Through his LinkedIn post, Razdan highlighted how stepping away from a successful career path helped him rethink his priorities and redefine his approach towards work and life.
