Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut said MPs inside the Lok Sabha feared CJP protesters might storm Parliament during the Chalo Sansad march. She praised Delhi Police for stopping any untoward incident.
Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the Chalo Sansad march organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), claiming that Members of Parliament inside the Lok Sabha feared the protesters might storm Parliament during the Monsoon Session. The BJP MP from Mandi also praised the Delhi Police for preventing any untoward incident.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Kangana said, “All parliamentarians were inside the House. We were all scared, thinking that the mob might attack us. I appreciate Delhi Police for playing the role of a shield, not letting people get harmed.”
The CJP's Chalo Sansad march on Monday drew nearly 50,000 supporters demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG question paper leak. Protesters were stopped at multiple locations across central Delhi, where police used tear gas shells and resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd. The demonstrations coincided with the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session, leading to heightened security in the national capital.
Kangana also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting held on Tuesday.
Referring to his remarks on youth-related issues, she said the Prime Minister urged MPs to engage with young people and respond to their concerns constructively.
“He spoke about what our responsibility is in this regard, and how we should tackle these issues,” she told news agency PTI.
“He said we should also talk in detail about our own achievements, whether in the field of science or projects like the hydrogen train. He also expressed concern about the lack of discussion on these achievements,” she added.

Previously, the actor had commented on the ongoing protest on Monday, saying the opposition could not "arm-twist" the government into deciding who should remain in office. Her comments also came on a day when the Lok Sabha was adjourned following sloganeering by Opposition MPs, who demanded discussions on the NEET row and the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case.
Ranaut said Parliament was the proper forum to raise questions and debate public issues. "Our parliamentary session is for--so that we can discuss all issues in detail, and the government is held accountable for everything. That is its purpose, and we want the session to proceed and for them to raise their questions there, but if they create a ruckus and cause chaos there, as they are doing with this protest, then that is not right," she said.
Meanwhile, thousands of students and young people have been at Jantar Mantar for more than 20 days. Activist Sonam Wangchuk announced on Monday (July 20, 2026) that he would continue his indefinite hunger strike following the police crackdown on protesters during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) Chalo Sansad march. He said the fast would continue until student leaders are allowed to meet parliamentarians or he is permitted to hold such a meeting from the hospital.
The protests highlighted growing anger over the NEET paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE examination process. Demonstrators also raised slogans demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
