Actor Maniesh Paul paid an emotional tribute to his mother, Urmil Paul, after her death on Wednesday. His heartfelt Instagram post reflected on their close bond and the emptiness her loss has left behind.

Actor and television host Maniesh Paul is mourning the death of his mother, Urmil Paul, who died on Wednesday in Delhi. Sharing the news on Instagram, the 44-year-old wrote an emotional note saying the world felt quieter after her death.

Alongside a series of photographs with his mother, Maniesh remembered her as his "first home", his "greatest comfort" and "the strongest woman I've ever known". He said no words could capture what she meant to him or the emptiness she had left behind, and thanked her for loving him "the way only a mother can".

In his post, Maniesh wrote, "Today, the world feels quieter. This morning, I said goodbye to my mother--my first home, my greatest comfort, and the strongest woman I've ever known (sic)."

He added, "But I carry your love, your strength, your kindness, and every lesson you gave me. They will stay with me for the rest of my life. I hope you're at peace now. Thank you for loving me the way only a mother can. Until we meet again. Love you forever and ever (sic)."

Maniesh has often spoken about his close bond with his mother. Over the years, he regularly shared glimpses of their relationship on social media and expressed his love and gratitude for her. In 2022, while wishing her on her birthday, he thanked her for shaping his outlook on life and wrote, "Thanks for teaching me to be BINDAAS!!"

Earlier, the actor's team confirmed the news in a statement that read, "With great grief, we regret to inform you that actor Maniesh Paul lost his 77-year-old mother today in Delhi. We request you to please pray for the departed soul. May she rest in eternal peace." Urmil Paul is survived by her husband, Jagmohan Paul, and their children, Maniesh, Jyoti Paul Mohan and Vivek Paul. The family has not disclosed the cause of her death.

Maniesh began his career as a radio jockey and video jockey before becoming one of television's most recognised hosts. He has acted in shows such as Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, Ssshhhh... Phir Koi Hai and Ghar Ghar Mein.

He made his lead film debut with Mickey Virus after appearing in Tees Maar Khan. Over the years, he has hosted reality shows including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Chhote Ustaad, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dance India Dance Li'l Masters and Nach Baliye. He was most recently seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur.
