Avengers Doomsday concept art: First look at RDJ's Doctor Doom, Loki and Beast
Former Marvel visual development director Andy Park has shared Avengers: Doomsday concept art showing Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom mask, Loki and the returning X-Men. The artwork marks Park's final full film at Marvel Studios and offers an early look at characters not yet seen in promotional material.
The first clear look at actor Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom mask has emerged through new concept art from Avengers: Doomsday (2026) shared by former Marvel visual department director Andy Park. The artwork also offers fresh glimpses of several characters, including Loki and some returning X-Men who had not appeared in promotional material so far.
Park posted the illustration on X on July 11 and described the project as a significant one in his Marvel Studios journey. “AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY – the final full film I had the honor of leading as Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios (sic),” he wrote on the social media platform. “This illustration commemorates that journey & reveals the characters & their looks for the first time. #AvengersDoomsday (sic).”
The image includes first looks at returning X-Men characters such as Nightcrawler, played by Alan Cumming, Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, and Mystique, played by Rebecca Romijn. It also features a mysterious image of Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, at the centre of the artwork.
Park, who was part of Disney layoffs in April, also announced his departure on X. “Marvel Studios Visual Development: 2010–2026. End of an era. I was there at the start of a team that broke the mold. 16 years, 40+ films, and 15 films led as Director of Visual Development, I couldn’t be prouder of the history we made (sic),” he wrote.
Avengers: Doomsday appears set to be one of Marvel's biggest films yet, with a large ensemble cast featuring actors Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright and others.
The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
