Exclusive: Tom Holland, Zendaya revisit a decade of Spider-Man memories

Actors Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon spoke about memory, friendship and loss in an exclusive conversation with India Today’s Bhavna Agarwal on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The discussion was framed around a question at the heart of the film: what would happen if the three of them suddenly forgot each other?

The conversation brought out both the emotional themes of the film and the bond the actors have built over the years. As they spoke about forgetting one another, the trio also reflected on their shared history across the Spider-Man franchise and the memories they have made on and off the Marvel set.

When asked if the film was emotionally taxing for him, with Peter Parker described as being in his loneliest chapter yet, Holland said it was not. He added, however, that he felt he was “missing out” while Zendaya and Batalon were having all the fun on set.

Zendaya said forgetting Holland and Batalon would mean forgetting “a third” of her life, underlining how closely their personal and professional journeys have been linked. Batalon, meanwhile, responded to the thought experiment with humour.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to release in theatres on July 30.
