Not Anna Lezhneva: Pawan Kalyan's Russian-born wife says, 'Call me Anna Konidala'
Anna Lezhneva said in an Instagram post that she has been Anna Konidala since marrying Pawan Kalyan in 2013. Shared ahead of her birthday, she requested everyone to address her by her real name.

Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's Russian-born wife, Anna Lezhneva, has revealed that she has officially been Anna Konidala since marrying the actor-politician in 2013. In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, she requested everyone to address her by her legal name, saying it is the one she truly identifies with.
She shared a note titled "Anna Konidala: A small request about my name", along with a throwback picture of herself hugging Pawan Kalyan during their first trip together to Saint Petersburg, Russia. Anna explained why she chose to make the announcement ahead of her birthday.
"A name is such a personal thing. With my birthday coming up soon, I felt like it's finally the right moment to write this," she wrote on Instagram.
Anna revealed that while most people continue to know her as Anna Lezhneva because that was the name widely reported when she married Pawan Kalyan, it has not been her legal surname for over a decade. "The funny thing is, our marriage certificate is actually the last official document where that surname appears. On that day, I took my husband's surname and became Anna Konidala," she wrote.
She ended the note with a simple request: "So if you've read this far, I just have one small request. Please call me Anna Konidala. That's my name, and it's the one I feel like myself with. Thank you for understanding. It really means a lot to me."
She also noted that the accompanying photograph was taken during the couple's first trip together to Saint Petersburg.
Pawan Kalyan and Anna married in 2013 after the actor's separation from his second wife, actor-model Renu Desai. The couple have two children together, Polena Anjana Pawanova and Mark Shankar Pawanovich.
Last month, Anna opened up about the challenges of being married to a politician. Reflecting on the difficult years, she wrote that while Pawan Kalyan was fighting battles in public life, she was at home trying to stay strong for their children.
"And while he was out there fighting battles in public, I was at home trying to stay strong for our children, often feeling completely alone. There were days I wanted to break down too. Days I was scared. Days I wondered how much more one person could endure for what he believed in. But we kept going. Not because it was easy. Not because it made life comfortable. But because some people simply cannot betray their conscience," she wrote.
On the work front, Pawan Kalyan is gearing up for his next film, directed by Surender Reddy.
