India at Commonwealth Games: July 29 schedule, medal events, fixtures in Glasgow

Commonwealth Games 2026: India's medal push continues on Day 7 of the Glasgow games, with Murali Sreeshankar, Parul Choudhary, Manpreet Kaur and Sanjana in action, while six Indian boxers aim to secure guaranteed podium finishes.

After another successful day for India in Glasgow, Harjinder Kaur and Gulveer Singh added silver medals in weightlifting and athletics as the contingent continued its impressive Commonwealth Games campaign. Attention now shifts to Wednesday, with Indians set to compete across athletics, boxing, weightlifting, swimming, para swimming and bowls.

Harjinder produced the performance of her career to win silver in the women's 69kg event. The 29-year-old lifted personal bests of 101kg in the snatch and 126kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 227kg, breaking the Commonwealth Games records in both lifts before finishing behind Canada's Charlotte Simoneau.

CWG Day 5 Highlights

Gulveer also impressed, winning silver in the men's 10,000m after staying with the lead pack before producing a strong final-lap sprint to clock 27:49.78 and finish behind Australia's Ky Robinson.

Earlier, Nirupama Devi's campaign in the women's 63kg category ended in disappointment as she failed to register a successful clean and jerk attempt after staying in medal contention following the snatch, resulting in a DNF.

India's boxers also enjoyed a productive day. Priya Ghanghas fought back to beat Scotland's Niamh Mitchell, while Preeti Pawar and Jadumani Singh secured convincing victories to reach the semifinals. All three have assured themselves of at least bronze medals.

India will have several medal opportunities on Wednesday, with 10 medal events scheduled across four sports.
