Content creator and actor Shreya Kalra, who has been one of the stronger voices on Netflix's Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, revealed one of her secrets in the latest episode after it was brought up during a task. Until now, none of her three secrets had been exposed on the show, but that changed when Akanksha Choudhary made a move in the task that put Shreya at risk and led to the keyword “cousin” coming up.

As she spoke on the show, Shreya said she had wanted to protect her secrets not because she was worried about reaching the finale, but because she felt the revelation could affect her family. She said, “I wanted to protect my secrets, not because I want to go in the finale, because I am sure I can go to the finale. I have given that much to the show. But I requested Akanksha not to reveal my secrets because I know this can ruin a lot of things in my family as well.”

Shreya then shared that she was molested by one of her cousins when she was 13 years old. She said her family did not know about it and that only Rishabh Jaiswal knew. Recalling what happened, she said that she used to visit her nani’s house, where everyone slept in the hall, and that at the time she did not understand what was happening. She said, “He used to grab me. I don’t want any sympathy. I am the last person to victimise myself. I don’t want people to sympathise with me when I go out.” She also said she did not want her mother to know because the cousin’s mother had died, and her own mother had cared for him for almost three years.

She went on to speak about her brother’s upcoming wedding and why she feared the matter becoming public. Shreya said her real brother is getting married in November and that his previous engagement had broken off because she is in the industry and controversies had happened around her. She said she did not want this to come out as he now has a chance to be happy, and she feared she would ruin it again.

She also said, “Mujhe bas iska bura lagta hai ki main hamesha bolti hoon ki apne haq ke liye lado, aur main khud ye baat kisi ko bata nahi payi (What hurts me most is that I always tell people to fight for their rights, yet I couldn't bring myself to tell anyone about this).” Shreya said that even after all this, she attended that cousin’s wedding with her family, and that she knows her mother is not as strong as her and would break down on seeing this.

After she spoke, several inmates tried to console her and asked her not to think about anyone else at that moment and to compose herself. Pamala Serena, Shivangi Joshi and Akanksha Chamola were among those who spoke to her.

Shreya is the fourth Lock Upp contestant to reveal that she was sexually molested. Earlier, Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi opened up about being sexually abused during childhood on the show.

Hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, Lock Upp is streaming on Netflix, with new episodes releasing at 8 pm.
