Ashes 2027 schedule announced, Trent Bridge returns to host series opener

Before the Ashes begins, Australia are expected to play a four-day warm-up fixture against an England Lions side at Emirates Old Trafford from June 7 to 10. The ECB said the match is intended to provide stronger preparation for the tourists following discussions with Cricket Australia, after England's heavy 4-1 Ashes defeat earlier this year was partly attributed to insufficient warm-up opportunities.

However, player availability could be affected if the schedule overlaps with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
