A Canada-based entrepreneur of Indian origin shared an emotional video from a flight, revealing that he broke down all of a sudden after realising he was finally living the life he had dreamed about as a child.

Ash Lamba posted the video on Instagram, where he was seen wiping away tears while sitting by the window in what appeared to be a business class seat. The clip also featured snippets of his life at present, including his travels, luxury car and home.

Explaining what happened, Lamba said he had initially planned to record a funny video during the flight.

“The moment I turned on the camera, I just broke down. I wasn’t expecting it. And then, I realised what had triggered it,” he said.

He recalled being fascinated by airports as a child and being curious about the business-class cabin. Whenever he went to use the washroom on a flight, he would deliberately walk towards the section just to catch a glimpse of what it looked like.

Lamba also remembered noticing the lifestyles of wealthier classmates, from their stories about summer holidays in London to the BlackBerry phones they carried, the luxury cars that dropped them off at school, big houses, expensive hotels, restaurants, and brands like Ralph Lauren and Rolex.

Despite describing his childhood as a happy one, he said those experiences stayed with him.

“My parents gave me a beautiful childhood. They worked incredibly hard and went far beyond what most parents would. Yet, I always had this feeling inside me. I wanted more. More experiences. More freedom. More choices. I wanted to see the world. I wanted to build something that would completely change my life. That dream quietly became my obsession,” he said.

Reflecting on his journey, Lamba said he now finds himself in the very business class seat he once admired from behind a curtain and has achieved many of the goals he once thought were impossible.

“Years later, I find myself sitting in the very seat I used to look at from behind a curtain. I travel to places I once only heard stories about. I drive the car that once lived only in my imagination. I live in a home that younger me would have called impossible. And somehow, it still feels unreal,” he said.

He added that the emotional moment was not about the flight itself, but about remembering the child who dreamed of a different future.

“Maybe that’s why I became emotional. Because, in that moment, I wasn’t looking out of an airplane window. I was looking back at a little boy who noticed everything. He noticed the details. He quietly made a promise to himself. And today, I am simply grateful that he never stopped believing. The dreams have changed. The hunger hasn’t,” he concluded.

For Ash Lamba, the journey was less about luxury and more about looking back at the child who believed he could one day build a different life for himself.
