Indian woman shows you why her Eiffel Tower experience wasn't what she expected
Instagram creator Meharma shared a blunt video tour of the Eiffel Tower and nearby Paris streets. The clip drew strong reactions online as she questioned cleanliness, security and the overall visitor experience.

An Indian content creator has sparked a conversation online after sharing an unfiltered look at her visit to the Eiffel Tower, questioning whether the iconic monument matches the image most tourists have in mind.
In a video posted on Instagram, Meharma walks viewers through her experience from the moment she approaches the landmark. Instead of focusing on the tower's grandeur, she draws attention to details she says often go unnoticed in travel photographs.
The creator begins by filming the approach to the monument, pointing out dusty walkways, dry patches of grass and overflowing waste bins. She says the area around the attraction had a strong unpleasant odour.
"It smelled really bad here," she says in the clip.
As she makes her way towards the entrance, she notices warning signs advising visitors to be cautious of pickpockets. Reacting to them with sarcasm, she says, "If Paris is such a safe city, why do tourists have to be reminded to protect themselves from pickpockets?"
Inside the Eiffel Tower, Meharma turns the camera towards the lifts, claiming they were covered with cobwebs. She also points out what appeared to be damaged glass panels and says the elevators felt overcrowded, hot and poorly maintained.
Not everything disappointed her, though. She admits that the sweeping view of Paris from the first observation level was worth the climb. However, she felt the higher levels became too congested to fully enjoy the experience.
The video doesn't stop at the Eiffel Tower. Meharma also records scenes from nearby streets, showing litter scattered across public spaces alongside homeless people resting in the city centre. She then contrasts those visuals with a restaurant made famous by Netflix's Emily in Paris.
"This isn't tucked away in some corner of the city. This is right in the heart of Paris," she says.

The clip has now been viewed over a million times, prompting mixed reactions online. Some users agreed that famous tourist destinations rarely match their polished social media image and appreciated her honesty.
Others defended Paris, arguing that millions of visitors pass through the area every year and that issues such as litter and overcrowding are common at major tourist attractions. Several also said travellers themselves share responsibility for keeping such places clean.
