Patients resting inside a hospital ward in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun became victims of theft after a man entered the room and stole their mobile phones while they slept. The incident was caught on CCTV.

The incident took place at New Jeevandan Hospital, where CCTV footage showed a man entering the patients’ room while covering his face with a handkerchief.

In the video, the accused was seen moving cautiously around the ward, making sure not to wake anyone up. He slowly walked towards the patients’ beds and allegedly picked up their mobile phones while they were asleep.

The man appeared to remain alert throughout the theft, repeatedly looking around the room and keeping his face covered. After taking phones from multiple patients, he moved towards another bed before making his way out of the ward.

As the CCTV clip spread across social media, the incident drew attention from users who questioned how a person managed to enter a hospital ward and steal belongings from vulnerable patients.

Following the circulation of the video, Budaun Police responded to one of the posts on X, stating that an FIR had been registered at the Civil Lines police station and that further investigation was underway.

The police are now examining the CCTV footage and investigating the theft case to identify the accused.

The incident has also sparked concerns among people about security measures in hospitals, where patients and their families often keep valuables such as phones and wallets with them during treatment.
