Delhi sisters attack delivery boy with chilli powder, ram scooter into him to steal parcels

Two sisters from Delhi's Karol Bagh were arrested within 15 hours for robbing a delivery boy in Rohini's Sector 5, police said. One of the accused posed as a customer and tried to snatch parcels from the delivery executive before throwing chilli powder into his eyes when he resisted.

The incident took place at around 7.20 pm on September 25 near a Hanuman temple in Rohini Sector 5.

The delivery boy suffered an injury to his leg in the incident.

HOW THE ROBBERY TOOK PLACE

According to the information shared by police, one of the sisters approached the delivery boy while posing as a customer and attempted to take the parcels from him. When he resisted, she allegedly threw chilli powder into his eyes.

At the same time, her sister reached the spot on a scooter and rammed the delivery boy from behind, knocking him to the ground.

The two sisters then allegedly took several parcels from the delivery bag and escaped from the spot.

POLICE ARRESTED SISTERS WITHIN 15 HOURS

Following the incident, police registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

Police used technical surveillance and information from an informer to identify the two accused. Both sisters were arrested within 15 hours of the robbery.

Three of the stolen parcels were recovered from their possession. Police also recovered the scooter allegedly used in the crime and a mobile phone.

ACCUSED FROM KAROL BAGH

Police said both accused sisters are residents of the Karol Bagh area.

One of the women has completed a course in fashion designing and is currently unemployed, according to police. The other, aged 20, had dropped out of Class 12.

Police said that during questioning, both women admitted to their involvement in the robbery. Further investigation into the case is underway.
