Delhi teen shot after bike-related dispute; 2 juveniles detained
A 16-year-old boy was shot outside a general store in Delhi, allegedly over an earlier bike dispute. Police have detained two juveniles, pointing to a cycle of retaliation among local teenagers.

A 16-year-old boy was injured in a firing incident in Delhi, allegedly linked to an earlier quarrel over a bike, and two juveniles have been detained in the case, police said on Monday.
The shooting took place on Sunday night outside a general store in Jaitpur Extension Part-II. Police said the attack was suspected to have been triggered by previous enmity between the teenager and the accused.
According to police, a PCR call about the firing was received at Kalindi Kunj police station at 8:41 pm. The SHO, investigating officer and other police personnel reached the spot and found that the injured teenager, a resident of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh who runs a salon, had suffered a firearm injury outside the shop.
His maternal cousin, Md Kamil, 30, later took him to Safdarjung Hospital. Police said the boy was admitted there under a medico-legal case and was in the operation theatre when the police team arrived, so his statement could not be recorded immediately.
An eyewitness who met the investigating officer at the hospital has been examined and his statement recorded, they added.
During the investigation, police found that a quarrel had taken place between two groups on March 5, with the victim on one side and the accused on the other, over a bike. Police said a scissor blow was allegedly inflicted during that altercation, after which an FIR was registered. They suspect the latest firing was carried out by two juveniles, aged 16 and 17, because of that earlier dispute.
The crime team visited the spot and took photographs. Police said one empty cartridge and a bullet head were recovered from the scene, and an expert from the Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini also inspected the area. During the subsequent investigation, the two juveniles were detained.
Police said one of them is a resident of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, while the other lives in Delhi. A country-made pistol suspected to have been used in the firing was recovered from them.
Police said further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events, while efforts are also being made to record the injured boy's statement and examine other eyewitnesses.
