A pizza shop owner from Sector 22 of Noida has been arrested after a video of him spitting on the pizza base before preparing and serving it is going viral on social media. The accused, identified as Muzammil, runs a shop named Pizza Hunt in Chaura village and has been arrested by a team of Noida Sector 24 police station. Soon after the video went viral, locals gathered outside the shop, leading to protests. The accused was reportedly confronted at the spot before police were informed.
After a complaint was lodged by the angered residents of the area, a team from Sector 24 police station reached the location and took him into custody. Authorities also seized materials from the shop and collected video evidence for further examination.
As per the police, the authenticity of the clip is being verified. “We are examining when and under what circumstances the video was recorded. A forensic analysis will be conducted to rule out any tampering,” an official said. Other employees at the outlet are also being questioned as part of the probe.
The incident has sparked wider concerns on social media regarding food hygiene and public health standards. Officials have assured that the investigation will be conducted impartially and that strict action will be taken if the allegations are found to be true.

Earlier this year, in January 2026, another similar incident emerged in Ghaziabad where a restaurant worker had allegedly been spitting on rotis.
The incident occurred at a shop named Chicken Point. In the video, the worker was preparing rotis in a tandoor after spitting on them. A person present at the spot recorded the act. The clip quickly went viral, triggering public outrage. The police immediately arrested the accused worker – Javed Ansari. Authorities have registered a case against him under relevant sections of law and initiated necessary legal proceedings.
After examining the video, the allegations appeared to be prima facie true.
Local residents have demanded strict action by the administration to prevent such acts and ensure food safety.
