Keralam landslide kills two siblings in Idukki, woman injured
A landslide in Vattavada in Keralam's Idukki district killed siblings Balakrishna and Chinnu and injured Mariamma. The state has promised full treatment support for the injured woman and aid for the bereaved families.
Two siblings were killed and a woman was injured after a landslide hit Vattavada in Keralam's Idukki district.
The deceased have been identified as Balakrishna and Chinnu. Balakrishnan's wife, Mariamma, was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Anoop Jacob, the minister in charge of Idukki district, said instructions had been issued to ensure the injured woman receives the best possible medical care. He said the government would bear the full cost of her treatment.
The minister also said necessary steps would be taken to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died in the landslide.
Jacob will hold a meeting with senior officials, including the district collector, to review the situation and decide on further measures.
