Causing unnecessary confusion: Dulquer Salmaan calls out fake X account

Actor Dulquer Salmaan has cautioned fans against an impersonation attempt on X (formerly Twitter), warning followers not to fall for a fake profile posing as him. In a statement posted on his official handle, the actor clarified that an impostor account operating under his name was generating unnecessary confusion and online negativity.

Addressing the issue, Dulquer specified that the handle @_dulQuer does not belong to him. He pointed out that while the profile operates under the guise of a 'parody account', it frequently posts as though it were him—commenting on films, sharing opinions on fellow actors, and posting fabricated greetings directed at his family members.

Calling out the account, Dulquer wrote, "Kindly requesting everyone to stop believing @_dulQuer to be my real account. This account claims to be a 'parody account' and therefore feels it's amusing to pretend to be me and comment as me on everything. Whether it's writing about movies or about other actors to even writing fake wishes to my own family members. It's causing unnecessary confusion and negativity (sic)."

The actor also disclosed that he has formally reported the handle to the microblogging platform and initiated an official complaint. Expressing disappointment over the lack of swift moderation, he added, "I've already reported this account and filed an official complaint but still awaiting a response from X (sic)."

On the professional front, Dulquer Salmaan has established a multi-language footprint across South Indian and Hindi cinema, featuring in prominent titles such as Sita Ramam (2022), Lucky Baskhar (2024), Kaantha (2025), and King of Kotha (2023).

Dulquer was last seen in I'm Game (2026), alongside actors Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Kathir, Vinay Forrt and Parth Tiwari.

The 43-year-old will next be seen in director Pavan Sadineni's Aakasamlo Oka Tara (2026). The film is set for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026.
