After months of focussing almost entirely on Yash's character Raaya, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups team appears ready to shift the spotlight to its star-studded female cast. On Tuesday, the film's official X account shared a cryptic post asking, "Where are the ladies, @TheNameIsYash?(sic)"

Yash was quick to join the fun, replying, "Calm down! Ladies take time to come!" He also confirmed that fans would get their answer on July 1 at 11.33 am, teasing what is expected to be the beginning of the film's next promotional campaign.

Ever since Toxic was announced, audiences have been eager to learn more about its ensemble female cast, which includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. While the female actors have received individual character posters, the film's promotional material so far has largely revolved around Yash's characters, Raaya and Ticket, revealing little about the women or their significance to the story.

The curiosity has only grown because of director Geetu Mohandas' comments about bringing a distinctly female perspective to the gangster genre. Speaking earlier about the film, Yash said one of the project's biggest strengths was Geetu's "female gaze". He explained that large-scale action and gangster films have traditionally been dominated by male filmmakers, making Toxic a refreshing departure.

Yash also credited Geetu with shaping the film's emotional and sensual layers, saying the filmmaker's perspective helped him better understand how romance and desire could be portrayed differently through a woman's lens.

Here's the teaser:

Directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed by KVN Productions, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to release in theatres on August 26, 2026, after undergoing multiple postponements.
