Medhavi Bidhuri’s wicket celebration has given the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026 one of its most viral moments. The Delhi leg-spinner produced the now-popular ‘6-7’ gesture after dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during Central Delhi Queens’ tournament opener on August 20.
The wicket came in the 16th over, with Arushi Goel completing a diving catch at mid-wicket. Bidhuri then raised and lowered both hands in the ‘6-7’ celebration, a gesture that has become popular among Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences. She finished with figures of 2/24 from four overs, although Central Delhi Queens eventually lost the match by 29 runs.
The celebration had a personal connection for Bidhuri. She had wanted to wear her usual No. 12 jersey, but the number was already occupied. Her younger sister then suggested that she switch to No. 67, combining the number with the viral trend and creating the celebration that has now made her an internet talking point.
“This ‘six-seven’ thing is trending a bit, and my younger sister, who’s like a brother to me, told me to wear jersey number 67 and keep this as my celebration,” Medhavi said after the match.
MEDHAVI BIDHURI’S RISE IN DELHI CRICKET
The viral moment is only the latest chapter in Bidhuri’s rise through Delhi cricket. A right-arm leg-spinner, the 20-year-old has been part of Delhi’s domestic setup for several years and has also represented Delhi at Under-19 level.
Bidhuri subsequently made her mark in the Delhi Premier League. Playing for South Delhi Superstarz in the 2025 edition, she delivered a crucial spell in the final against Central Delhi Queens. She picked up 3/26 from three overs as South Delhi Superstarz defended 121 and won the title by just one run.
Her performances have also brought her into the wider WPL conversation. Bidhuri was among the players registered for the Women’s Premier League 2024 auction, underlining that she had already attracted attention beyond Delhi’s domestic circuit.
Now representing Central Delhi Queens in DPL 2026, Bidhuri has begun the campaign with two wickets, and a celebration that has made her name familiar far beyond the Delhi cricket circuit.
