Gurugram man tracks down delayed Zomato order, finds two people eating it

A Gurugram-based man waiting for his Zomato order decided to check the delivery rider’s location when the food failed to arrive. What he found after tracing the rider has now turned into a viral story.

In a post on X, Rishabh Kaushik explained that he ordered food from Khadak Singh Da Dhaba through Zomato at 10.58 pm on Sunday. However, the food did not reach him even as the app indicated that the delivery partner was nearby.

Then, Rishabh opened the order tracker to check on his delivery, only to find that the agent’s location had remained at the same spot for around 40 minutes.

After that, he took the matter into his own hands and got out of his house to find out what was causing the delay. In an updated tweet, Rishabh explained that the delivery rider had sold the food to two men for Rs 100.

Surprised, Rishabh clicked their pictures that he shared later on X showing the half-eaten food packets.

The images were posted alongside screenshots of the order tracker, which showed the delivery rider’s location and the order continuing through the delivery process despite Rishabh not receiving the meal.

He then took a dig at Zomato founder, Deepinder Goyal, adding, “The delivery partner’s icon has been standing at the same spot for 40 minutes. @deepigoyal, this isn’t food delivery anymore. It’s a full-fledged food-sharing economy.”

Zomato Care responded to the post asking Rishabh Kaushik to share his order ID so that the matter could be looked into.

The post also prompted other users to share their own views on late-night food deliveries. Several suggested opting for cash on delivery to avoid potential issues with orders that do not arrive, particularly when ordering late at night.
