Hyundai posts highest monthly sales in July, but trails Tata, Mahindra in domestic market
Hyundai Motor India posted its highest-ever monthly sales in July 2026 at 75,360 units, driven by record exports. However, the carmaker remained behind Tata Motors and Mahindra in domestic sales.
Hyundai Motor India recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in July 2026, selling 75,360 vehicles globally, up 25.4 per cent year-on-year. While the company also achieved its best export performance in over 100 months, it remained behind both Tata Motors and Mahindra in domestic passenger vehicle sales.
In July, Hyundai sold 54,210 vehicles in the domestic market, a 23.3 per cent increase over the same month last year. Exports jumped 31.4 per cent to 21,150 units, marking the company's highest monthly export tally in more than 100 months.
Despite the record overall performance, Hyundai ranked third in domestic passenger vehicle sales. Tata Motors led with 62,611 units, followed by Mahindra with 60,048 units, while Hyundai's domestic tally stood at 54,210 units.
The Hyundai Creta continued to be the brand's bestseller, recording its highest monthly sales of calendar year 2026 at 18,088 units. The Hyundai i20 also posted its best monthly performance this year with sales of 6,738 units.
Commenting on the performance, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said the company's highest-ever monthly sales reflect growing customer trust in the brand, while record exports reinforce Hyundai's "Make in India, Made for the World" strategy.
