Nissan Tekton: Price
The Tekton is Nissan's first mid-size SUV for India since the Kicks was discontinued in 2023. After relying largely on the Magnite to drive sales over the past few years, the company has begun expanding its portfolio with the recently introduced Gravite MPV, with the Tekton emerging as one of its most significant launches in recent years.
Nissan Tekton: Powertrain options
The Nissan Tekton's lower variants are powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 100bhp and 166Nm of peak torque. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, the engine delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.4kmpl. Higher variants are equipped with a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 163bhp and 280Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic (DCT) and offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5kmpl.
Nissan Tekton: Exterior design
The Nissan Tekton adopts a rugged, SUV-first design language that draws heavily from the brand's flagship Patrol, giving it a more upright and muscular stance than its Renault Duster sibling. Up front, the SUV features a broad grille with twin chrome bars, flanked by sleek LED headlamps linked by a full-width C-shaped LED daytime running light signature. A contrasting red accent strip beneath the headlamps, sculpted bonnet lines with prominent Tekton lettering, and a dual-tone bumper with a faux silver skid plate and LED fog lamps further enhance its bold appearance.
Viewed from the side, the Tekton retains the Duster's overall proportions but introduces several Nissan-specific styling elements. These include newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches, a distinctive silver trim insert on the front doors and hidden rear door handles integrated into the C-pillars, creating a cleaner profile.
The rear design echoes the front with connected C-shaped LED tail lamps linked by a full-width light bar. A roof-mounted spoiler, upright tailgate and dual-tone bumper with a silver skid plate reinforce its SUV character. Unlike the Duster, the tailgate is finished entirely in body colour instead of a contrasting black panel, giving the rear a more premium look. The Tekton badge is prominently displayed across the tailgate.
The SUV measures 4,348mm in length, 1,815mm in width and 1,674mm in height, while offering a 2,657mm wheelbase and 212mm of ground clearance.
Nissan Tekton: Interior and features
The cabin follows a modern, premium layout highlighted by a dual-tone rose gold and burgundy colour scheme exclusive to the top-spec variant. The dashboard houses a 10.1-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, while a three-spoke steering wheel and leatherette seats add to the premium feel. All occupants get adjustable headrests for improved comfort.
Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a powered tailgate, and six-way electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats. The Tekton also packs an extensive suite of safety technologies, including six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera with blind-spot assist, an electronic parking brake, and front and rear parking sensors.
Built on the same platform as the Renault Duster, the Tekton benefits from a structure that has already secured a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Nissan also claims the SUV has the capability to achieve a five-star Global NCAP safety rating, further strengthening its credentials as a family-focused SUV.
