Ahead of the release of director Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, the internet has reimagined Indian actors for the screen adaptation of Homer's epic poem. Actors Aamir Khan, Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Sai Pallavi, and Janhvi Kapoor, among others, were envisioned through AI-generated images as the upcoming Hollywood film's lead characters.
Aamir Khan, who was last seen in director RS Prasanna's Sitaare Zameen Par, was introduced as Odysseus, originally played by actor Matt Damon in The Odyssey. He is seen dressed in armour with a bearded look and grey hair while standing in the war zone. Tabu, known for her incredible performance in the Dune series, has been reimagined as Penelope, originally portrayed by actor Anne Hathaway
While Sai Pallavi, who made her Bollywood debut with Ek Din (2026), was presented as Zendaya's Athena from The Odyssey, Ishaan Khatter's look was recreated as Odysseus's son Telemachus, played by actor Tom Holland in the film. Janhvi Kapoor's AI-generated image portrays her as Helen of Troy, played by actor Lupita Nyong'o.
Actors Akshaye Khanna, Jim Sarbh and Amitabh Bachchan are also introduced in the Odyssey world playing Antinous, The Greek king of Sparta and Sinon, respectively. Originally, the characters are played by Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal and Elliot Page, respectively.
The Odyssey, an adaptation of one of the first stories in human history, follows Odysseus, played by Damon, through the trials and mythical encounters he faces on his decade-long journey home after the Trojan War. Pattinson's Antinous is a suitor seeking Penelope’s hand in marriage and Odysseus’ throne in Ithaca.
