A 39-year-old man was allegedly stoned to death by three of his friends after an argument during a late-night drive in Gurugram, police said on Wednesday. The three accused have been arrested.

According to police, Bandi Oraon had attended the birthday party of a friend’s son in Wazirabad on the night of July 13-14. Oraon, who had moved to the city a month ago for work, then asked his friends to take him around the city, after which he left with them in a car.

ACP (Crime) Naveen Sharma said, "An argument broke out between them near Wazirabad Dhani Chowk, following which the accused allegedly took Bandi to the Aravalli forest area and assaulted him with stones, where he died on the spot." Police said the accused later dumped his body in nearby bushes and fled.

Sharma said the body was found on Tuesday in bushes near the DLF Faridabad T-Point after a passerby informed the police at around 6 am. An FIR for murder was registered at Sector 53 police station, and joint teams from Sector 53 and Sector 43 police stations arrested the accused from Gurugram, he said.

Police identified the accused as Ram, 30, a taxi driver, and Vinay, 35, and Prakash, 26, both auto-rickshaw drivers. All three are natives of Jharkhand and are currently living in Wazirabad, Gurugram.
