Video: On way to work, Noida man gets electrocuted and slips into rainwater-filled drain
The man lost his life in the incident, which took place on Thursday, July 9, when Noida and several other parts of the wider NCR region were lashed by incessant rains.

A 28-year-old man died in Noida earlier this week after getting electrocuted and falling into accumulated rainwater at the spot, according to the police. The incident, which was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, took place on Thursday, July 9, when the city and several other parts of the wider NCR region were lashed by incessant rains.
The man, named Aryan, was an engineer by profession. He was on his way to work amid heavy waterlogging when the incident occurred.
In a statement released on Saturday, July 11, the police said a shock from a short circuit on an electricity pole caused him to fall into the water that had accumulated there due to the relentless downpour.
Aryan was declared brought dead by doctors when he was rushed to the hospital, officials said.
The police said the forensic examination was unable to ascertain the exact cause of death, noting that no external injuries were found on the body.
"Accordingly, the viscera has been preserved for further forensic examination," the statement read.
It was earlier reported by news agency PTI that the preliminary probe into the death had suggested Aryan was walking over concrete slabs placed on top of a roadside drain as the road was inundated.
One of the slabs was allegedly unstable, causing him to fall into the drain, the initial findings had indicated. He was pulled out of the drain in an unconscious state by the people present there.
Despite attempts to revive him by administering CPR, he did not regain consciousness.
The tragic incident came the same day another young man lost his life after falling into the rainwater near a transformer on a waterlogged street in Noida's adjoining Ghaziabad, which too witnessed sustained rainfall on Thursday.
