UPSSSC one-time registration 2026 begins: How PET candidates can apply, rules explained

Candidates preparing for Uttar Pradesh government recruitment exams will no longer need to repeatedly fill in the same personal details for every application. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) system to make the application process simpler and more transparent.

The facility has been launched for candidates appearing in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) and other upcoming UPSSSC recruitment examinations. The OTR system is free of cost and will allow aspirants to create a single profile that can be used for future applications.

ONE PROFILE, MULTIPLE EXAMS

Under the new system, candidates will have to submit their details only once. The information entered during OTR registration will automatically be available while applying for future UPSSSC examinations.

Candidates will need to verify their registration through their mobile number and email ID. The registration process will require details such as:

  • Name and parents’ names

  • Date of birth

  • Caste category

  • Address details

  • Educational qualifications

  • Recent colour photograph

  • Signature in the prescribed format

UPSSSC has advised candidates to carefully check all details before submitting the form, as the information cannot be changed after the OTR number is generated.

WHY UPSSSC BROUGHT OTR NOW

The One-Time Registration system was planned by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in 2023. After nearly three years, the facility was launched along with the new UPSSSC website to streamline the recruitment process.

Although new for UPSSSC examinations, similar OTR systems are already used by several recruitment bodies, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), State Public Service Commissions and other state-level examination boards.

The government has stated that the system will help reduce repetitive form filling, minimise errors and make recruitment applications more convenient for candidates.

PET SCORE TO REMAIN VALID FOR THREE YEARS

Along with OTR, UPSSSC has also clarified the validity period of PET scores. A candidate’s PET score will remain valid for three years from the date of declaration.

If a candidate has more than one valid PET score during this period, they will be allowed to use the highest score while applying for future recruitment examinations.

The move is expected to benefit lakhs of government job aspirants who appear for multiple UPSSSC examinations and previously had to enter the same details every time they applied.
