Rajkumar Hirani-produced Pritam and Pedro may be headed to South Korea. India Today Digital has learnt that the makers of the JioHotstar series are in early talks for a Korean adaptation after attracting interest from a production house there.

According to a source familiar with the development, a Korean production company has approached the makers to explore the possibility of acquiring the remake rights to the series. Discussions are currently at an initial stage, and no agreement has been finalised. "The conversations are ongoing, but they are still very preliminary. The Korean side has shown interest in adapting the series for its local audience, and both parties are exploring the feasibility of the project," the source said.

If the deal goes through, Pritam and Pedro would join a growing list of Indian titles being adapted for international audiences, reflecting the increasing demand for stories that can travel across languages and markets.

Released on JioHotstar, Pritam and Pedro is a cybercrime comedy-drama created and produced by Rajkumar Hirani and directed by Avinash Arun. The series stars Arshad Warsi, Vikrant Massey and Vir Hirani, and follows the unlikely partnership between a seasoned police officer and a young hacker as they investigate cybercrime cases.

The show also marked Hirani's first long-form streaming project as a creator and producer after decades of working primarily in feature films.

There has been no official announcement from the makers or the Korean production house so far. For now, the remake remains under discussion, with its future dependent on whether the ongoing talks translate into a formal agreement.
