Eyewitnesses also claimed that the man appeared to be in an inebriated state at the time of the incident, although police are yet to officially confirm whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
After catching the suspect, residents handed him over to personnel from the Madhupatna police station, who took him into custody for questioning.
The owner of the motorcycle later reached the police station after being informed about the incident and lodged a formal First Information Report (FIR) regarding the alleged theft.
