The funding, cleared for the 2026-27 financial year, covers the upgrade of the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti Road and the remaining 16-km stretch of the Tikkar-Jarol-Khamadi Road.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY BE SPENT?
Of the total allocation:
Rs 203.52 crore has been approved for the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti Road.
Rs 35.93 crore has been sanctioned for the remaining 16-km stretch of the Tikkar-Jarol-Khamadi Road.
The projects are aimed at strengthening road infrastructure in some of Himachal Pradesh's most important horticulture regions.
BOOST FOR APPLE-GROWING REGIONS
Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti Road serves as a vital route for apple-growing areas, including Theog, Kotkhai, Jubbal, Rohru and Chopal.
According to the minister, better roads will allow apples and other horticultural produce to reach markets more quickly and safely, while also reducing transport costs and supporting the rural economy.
TIKKAR-JAROL-KHAMADI ROAD TO COMPLETE KEY CORRIDOR
Singh said the Tikkar-Jarol-Khamadi Road project will complete the entire road corridor, providing uninterrupted connectivity.
He said the project will particularly benefit farmers and horticulturists in the Rampur Assembly constituency, making travel and transportation easier.

STATE TO FAST-TRACK THE PROJECTS
The minister said the approval followed sustained efforts by the Himachal Pradesh government and the Public Works Department, which had been pursuing the proposals with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
He added that the state government will complete all procedural formalities at the earliest so construction can begin on time and be completed within the stipulated schedule.inf
