The fresh announcement drew mixed reactions from fans online. While many celebrated the new release date and said they were excited to finally watch the trailer, others remained sceptical after the last-minute postponement earlier this month. "Hope you don't postpone it again," one user wrote, while another joked, "I have to wake up at 4 am for this?" Several others questioned whether the trailer would indeed arrive as scheduled, with some calling the early morning timing unusual despite the makers describing it as an auspicious brahma muhurat.

The trailer was originally scheduled to release on July 24 before being postponed. Producer Namit Malhotra had then explained that the decision followed the film's global distribution partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, with the team opting for a coordinated worldwide launch strategy.

Earlier this month, the trailer was unveiled to a select audience during the Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp event in Delhi, where the makers also introduced the film's lead cast for the first time.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is being mounted as a two-part epic, with the first instalment positioned as a global theatrical event.

Ahead of the trailer's public release, the makers also showcased exclusive footage at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, signalling the scale of the film's international rollout.
