OnePlus has finally confirmed when its next budget smartphone will arrive. After teasing the device earlier this week, the company has now announced the official launch date of the OnePlus N6x in India, scheduled for July 31. Alongside the launch date, OnePlus has also revealed the phone's complete rear design, showing off a fresh new look that clearly separates it from the recently launched OnePlus N6.

Unlike the OnePlus N6, which came with a square camera island, the upcoming N6x adopts a completely different design language. The phone features a flat frame with a flat rear panel and a vertically aligned pill-shaped camera module positioned in the top-left corner, while the LED flash sits outside the camera housing.

OnePlus has also confirmed two colour options for the device — a light blue finish and a deep burgundy variant. Both versions retain the clean, minimalist design with a centrally placed OnePlus logo.

What we know so far

OnePlus has yet to reveal the specifications of the N6x, but the device is expected to sit alongside or slightly below the OnePlus N6 in the company’s affordable smartphone portfolio.

Whether the N6x shares the same hardware or arrives with a different processor and camera setup remains to be seen. With the launch now scheduled for July 31, OnePlus is expected to reveal more details about the smartphone over the next few days.

For reference, the OnePlus N6 features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 1,200 nits of high brightness. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset. The device runs Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 out of the box, and OnePlus promises up to two major Android OS upgrades.

For photography, the OnePlus N6 packs a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. On the front, the phone houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a massive 8,000mAh battery, one of the biggest in its segment. The phone supports 45W wired fast charging. It also supports 5W reverse wired charging and bypass charging.

The OnePlus N6 comes with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance and is also MIL-STD-810H certified for improved durability.
