For many Indians living abroad, home often arrives not through a plane ticket but in a carefully packed cardboard box.

A viral video shared by a woman in Canada has captured that feeling, showing a 20 kg parcel sent by her parents from India, filled not just with food and gifts, but with the kind of care only family can pack.

The video, posted on Instagram by Himani Parmar, begins with her opening the large carton that had travelled thousands of kilometres from India. As she unpacks its contents, it quickly becomes clear that every inch of the parcel had been thoughtfully filled.

Inside were containers of aamras, theplas, and several other homemade and packaged food items. Alongside them were clothes, accessories, and gifts for both Himani and her husband, each carefully wrapped and arranged.

The text over the video reads, "When your daddy and mumma send 20 kg of love and aamras."

In the caption accompanying the post, Himani reflected on what the parcel truly meant. She wrote that only Indians living overseas would understand the emotions tied to receiving such a package from home.

According to her, the box carried much more than sweet mango pulp, mangoes, clothes, and thoughtful presents. It was, she said, "filled with countless moments of love."

Himani shared that she could imagine her parents walking from one shop to another, carefully selecting every item and handpicking the best mangoes so she could continue enjoying familiar flavours despite living thousands of miles away.

She added that every object in the parcel carried a piece of their hearts, and that she could feel her parents' warmth in every layer of the packaging.

Ending her post on an emotional note, Himani wrote that no matter how old children grow or how far they move from home, parents never stop looking after them. Distance, she said, may separate families, but it can never diminish their love.

The video has resonated with social media users, particularly members of the Indian diaspora, many of whom said it reminded them of parcels they have received from their own families.

For many, it was a simple but powerful reminder that while miles may keep loved ones apart, gestures like these continue to bridge the distance, one carefully packed box at a time.
