Raksha Bandhan 2026: Delhi traffic police issues advisory for Anand Vihar
Delhi Traffic Police has issued a Raksha Bandhan advisory for Anand Vihar and nearby roads on August 27 and 28. The alert warns of heavier movement and asks commuters to use diversions and plan ahead.
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in connection with Raksha Bandhan, warning commuters of increased passenger and vehicular movement in and around Anand Vihar ISBT, Road No. 56, NH-9 and Vikas Marg on August 27 and 28.
The traffic police expects a substantial rise in the movement of pedestrians, interstate buses, private vehicles, taxis, and people travelling to and from Delhi during the festival.
AVOID ROAD NO. 56 AND ANAND VIHAR ISBT
In view of the anticipated traffic congestion, commuters have been advised to avoid Road No. 56 and ISBT Anand Vihar wherever possible.
Travellers have been asked to use alternate or diverted routes, including Road No. 57, NH-24 and NH-9, to reach their destinations.
PLAN YOUR JOURNEY IN ADVANCE
The traffic police has advised travellers to plan their journeys in advance and keep sufficient time in hand to account for possible delays and congestion.
Commuters have also been advised to follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed on the roads during the festive period.
INCREASED MOVEMENT EXPECTED AROUND ANAND VIHAR
The advisory comes as increased passenger and vehicular movement is expected around Anand Vihar ISBT and nearby roads during Raksha Bandhan.
With interstate buses, private vehicles, taxis and pedestrians expected to increase in the area, commuters using these routes are advised to plan accordingly and opt for alternate routes wherever possible.
