Salman Khan defended Varun Dhawan and Sohail Khan against mocking comments on Bigg Boss 20. His remarks on trolling and intrusive paparazzi prompted reactions from Varun, David Dhawan and Neha Dhupia.
Actor Varun Dhawan showed his appreciation for Salman Khan after the actor called out people who mock celebrities for their looks on Bigg Boss 20. And it looks like Varun’s father, filmmaker David Dhawan, was just as happy to hear Salman say it. During the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode, the actor-host spoke about the kind of comments celebrities have to deal with online.
Reacting to it, on Sunday, the Bawaal actor shared a video of his dad watching the episode and reacting to Salman’s comments, along with a clapping emoji.

During the episode on Saturday, Salman drew a clear line between someone expressing genuine concern about an actor’s health and simply making fun of their appearance. “Showing concern that bhai, you look unwell, you have lost weight, is different. But mocking Sohail and Varun over their looks? That is wrong,” Salman said.
Varun’s name came up as Salman spoke about how easily celebrities become targets on social media. The actor himself has been dealing with comments about his appearance, and Salman wasn’t willing to let it slide.
He soon turned the attention towards himself. Salman took off his hat and then his shirt on stage, directly addressing those who’ve been trolling him over his weight.

Salman’s rant, however, wasn’t only about body-shaming. He also had something to say about the way some photographers click celebrities, particularly women, and share pictures from angles they may not be comfortable with.
He mentioned Saiee Manjrekar, Neha Dhupia and his own niece while talking about the issue. Salman recalled seeing Saiee look uncomfortable when she was photographed in such a manner. He also remembered Neha objecting to similar pictures and spoke about an incident involving his niece.
“And what did the caption say? Guess who it is. Who are they to do this?” he asked.
Salman then urged women who are uncomfortable with such photographs to speak up and confront the photographers. He pointed out that this kind of behaviour happens “all the time at every function”.
Neha, who was mentioned during the conversation, later reacted to Salman’s comments on social media on Sunday. She shared a simple response: “Tiger zinda hai.”
On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Vamshi Paidipally’s film, tentatively titled Monster, alongside Nayanthara. Varun, meanwhile, has Bhediya 2 coming up and is also reportedly attached to a horror film backed by Aditya Chopra’s production house.
