Natalie Portman welcomes third child, first with partner Tanguy Destable

Actor Natalie Portman has welcomed her third child, her first with partner Tanguy Destable. The actor, 45, gave birth in Paris last month, a source told People.

The newborn joins Portman’s two older children, son Aleph, 15, and daughter Amalia, 9, whom she shares with her ex-husband, director-choreographer Benjamin Millepied. The arrival marks a new chapter for Portman, who is now a mother of three.

Portman confirmed that she was expecting her third child during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in April. At the time, she spoke with gratitude about the pregnancy and the joy of welcoming another baby with Destable.

“Tanguy and I are very excited. I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle,” she told the publication.

Portman also spoke about the care she takes when discussing pregnancy, mindful that it can be a difficult journey for many people. She said she had grown up hearing about how hard it could be to conceive and knew people close to her who had struggled with it.

“It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing,” she said, adding that she felt “very aware” of how fortunate she was.

The No Strings Attached star also reflected on how her outlook on motherhood had changed with age. During her third pregnancy, she said she felt a deeper sense of gratitude and a clearer understanding of the people and energy she wanted around her.

“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” Portman said.

She also admitted that knowing it could be her last pregnancy made her want to savour each moment. “Knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment,” she said.

Portman and Destable’s relationship was first confirmed by People in March 2025. Her latest arrival is her first child with the French musician, following her two children with Millepied.
