Bengal biker runs out of fuel, little boy brings help and a lesson in kindness

A stranded biker in Bengal asked a young boy for help after running out of fuel on a deserted road. The boy not only went all the way to a petrol pump for him, but later refused to take any money for his help. And guess what? The story doesn't end here.

The heartwarming incident was shared by Bengali content creator Rahul Lama, who found himself stranded on a deserted village road after his bike ran out of fuel. After waiting for help and dragging his bike for a considerable distance, Rahul spotted a young boy cycling past and stopped him to ask for directions to the nearest petrol pump.

“My bike has run out of fuel and I have been waiting for help for a long time. Can you tell me where the petrol pump is?” Rahul asked.

The 13-year-old boy named Abul Bashar told him that the petrol pump was quite far away. When Rahul asked if he could bring him some fuel, he explained that it would take him around 20 to 25 minutes to reach the pump and return.

Tired after dragging his bike along the road, Rahul pleaded with him once again. He then handed Abul boy a Rs 500 note and asked him to bring Rs 100 worth of petrol, assuring him that he would wait there.

About 30 minutes later, the boy returned with a bottle filled with petrol. Rahul filled his bike’s tank and thanked him for making the trip. Abul then handed him exactly Rs 400 in change.

Touched by his honesty, Rahul offered the money to the boy. But Abul politely refused. Even when Rahul asked him to keep it as a gift, the Class 6 student would not accept it.

Rahul even suggested that Abul could use the money to buy chocolates, but the boy remained firm. He got back on his bicycle and tried to leave.

Rahul then decided to turn the moment into a game. He started a one-minute timer and offered Abul Rs 50 for every new follower he gained during that time. By the end of the minute, Rahul had gained 10 followers, making the prize Rs 500.

But Abul had another idea.

Instead of keeping the money, he asked Rahul to donate it to poor people or use it to buy a meal for someone in need.

The answer left Rahul visibly stunned. When he asked the young boy where he had learnt to be so kind, Abul simply said that his parents had taught him.

Abul Bashar may have been riding a small bicycle along a quiet village road, but his simple act of kindness travelled much farther.

His refusal to take money and his instinct to think of someone else in need turned an ordinary roadside encounter into a quietly beautiful reminder that generosity has little to do with age.
