Poor planning: CBSE's 50-day silence leaves Class 10 second board students anxious
The wait for CBSE Class 10 second board exam results has stretched to nearly 50 days, leaving students and parents anxious. With no fresh update from the board, concerns are rising over Class 11 admissions and academic planning.

Nearly 50 days after the CBSE Class 10 second board examinations concluded, students and parents are still waiting for their results, with many questioning the delay and seeking clarity from the board.
The second board exams were conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026, after CBSE introduced the additional opportunity for Class 10 students to improve their performance or clear compartment papers.
However, with no official result date announced yet, students say uncertainty is affecting their admission plans for Class 11.
A WAIT THAT IS TESTING PATIENCE
Several students and parents have taken to social media to raise concerns over the delay.
One user on X, tagged @cbseindia29, wrote, “When is CBSE going to release class 10th second board exams’ result? There is no notification, no clue, children are waiting and checking the website hopelessly every now and then. Last they said they will release it by 30th June.”
Another parent highlighted the impact of the delay, saying, “Ignorance of the Class 10 2nd board results by CBSE reflects poor planning, lack of transparency, and complete disregard for students' mental well-being. Thousands of students and parents are left anxious due to uncertainty and mismanagement.”
A student also posted, “CBSE Class X second board (improvement board) finished on 21 May. It’s been almost 50 days and still no signs of results. Students cannot take admissions. Request intimate date and take out the results.”
WHY STUDENTS ARE WORRIED
According to CBSE data, 6,68,854 students registered for the second examination, including 85,285 compartment candidates and 5,25,655 students appearing for improvement of performance.
The delay has become a concern for students applying for Class 11 admissions, as several schools have already started the new academic session. Many families fear that the uncertainty could affect subject selection, school transfers and fee-related planning.
In the main CBSE Class 10 board examination held earlier, over 23 lakh students appeared, with 93.66 per cent students passing the exam. The second examination was introduced to provide another opportunity to students who wanted to improve their scores or clear failed subjects.
CBSE YET TO GIVE CLEAR TIMELINE
CBSE has not issued a fresh official notification confirming the result date. Students are now waiting for a formal announcement from the board regarding the release schedule.
As the wait continues, parents are urging CBSE to announce the result timeline and avoid further uncertainty for students preparing to move to the next academic stage.
