India's Got Latent Season 2 more contained, says Kiku Sharda; out-of-line jokes dropped
Actor-comedian Kiku Sharda opened up about the changes in India's Got Latent Season 2, saying comedian Samay Raina is now more careful with his humour. He also shared that some hilarious but 'out of line' moments were removed before the episode was released.

Comedian Kiku Sharda, in a recent interview, said India’s Got Latent has become more measured in its second season, with host Samay Raina appearing more controlled than before. He also said some funny but ‘out of line’ moments from the episode were edited out, and added that he was glad they did not make the final cut.
Speaking about his experience on the show, the 50-year-old suggested that growing popularity brings with it greater responsibility. Sharda, who appeared on the second episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2 with Chandan Prabhakar and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, made the remarks during a recent conversation with podcaster Prakhar Gupta on PGX: Raw & Real.
When asked whether he noticed any change in Samay Raina’s show compared with the previous season, he said, “He has got the show a little more controlled now from before.” He added that the season 2 episodes can now be watched with parents, unlike earlier. “Farak hai (There is difference),” he said.
Explaining his point further, Sharda said, “Even today, when we talk about Samay Raina, we discuss that the new season is a little contained. The more popular you become, the more contained or controlled you get. You start taking a little more responsibility towards the jokes you crack. This happens with everyone. It’s nothing new. It’s not a different game for Kapil Sharma and a different one for Samay Raina. It’s there.”
Some jokes were dropped from the final edit
During the interview, Sharda was also asked if any funny portions from the episode were removed before release. He said no full performances were cut, but a few conversations were left out.
“There weren’t any entire performances that were cut, but there were some other moments that were very funny. At the same time, we also knew they were a little out of line, so they weren’t included. They were funny, but I’m glad they didn’t make it to the final edit,” he said.
Season 2 so far
Sharda appeared on the episode alongside Chandan Prabhakar and Haarsh Limbachiyaa. In the lead-up to the episode, Samay Raina announced the guests on his Instagram Stories and said sharing the stage with them was surreal because he had grown up watching their work.
Kiku Sharda and Chandan Prabhakar became known for their performances on popular Indian television comedy shows, while Harsh Limbachiyaa first built his name as a comedy writer before establishing himself as a performer, host and television personality.
India’s Got Latent has remained widely discussed online. The first episode of the new season, featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, marked Samay Raina’s return to the show after the controversy around the previous season. While some viewers welcomed the comeback, others said the episode lacked the raw, unscripted energy that had made the show a viral hit.
