I was molested at 13: Ram Kapoor shares childhood trauma on Lock Upp
Actor Ram Kapoor disclosed on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa that he was molested at 13 in boarding school. The revelation left the house in tears and prompted him to speak about trauma, apology and healing.

Television actor Ram Kapoor made an emotional revelation on the latest episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, sharing that he was molested at the age of 13 while studying at a boarding school. The actor disclosed the deeply personal experience during the show's secret-reveal task, saying only his wife, Gautami Kapoor, knew about the incident until now.
Speaking about the traumatic experience, Ram recalled that he was in class eight when a senior student allegedly molested him in the dormitory after school.
"When I was in 8th standard and was 13 years old, I was molested. After school, we used to sit in our dorms and talk. A Class 10 student was sitting with me on my bed when he suddenly touched me under the blanket. There were at least 30-40 children around us, and I froze. I couldn't do anything, and he kept going," he said.
The actor admitted that he did not know how to respond at the time and remained traumatised by the incident for years.
"I didn't know whether I should do something, stay quiet, keep tolerating it, or scream. After quite some time, I told him I wasn't comfortable. He stopped immediately and left. After that, I changed a lot. I became very quiet and was deeply traumatised," he shared.
Ram also revealed that the same person later apologised to him and made sincere efforts to help him recover from the trauma.
"It's strange, but the person who caused my trauma also helped me heal. We eventually became good friends. A few weeks later, he apologised, and whenever he got the chance, he made sure I knew he was genuinely sorry. This is a secret that even my children and my parents don't know. Only Gautami knows about it," he said.
Reflecting on the incident, Ram said it changed the way he looked at people and taught him not to judge others. He added that while talking about the experience still brings back painful memories, he no longer carries fear or resentment towards the person involved.
His revelation left the house visibly emotional. Contestant Sufi Motiwala broke down as he revealed that he too had been molested, while Harshad Chopda and Dheeraj Dhoopar were also seen in tears. Host Farah Khan hugged Ram and said, "I am sorry this happened to you," while Riteish Deshmukh praised the actor's courage, saying, "You are very strong. Today, I have learnt something from you, and I am proud of you."
The show has completed two weeks and has been generating considerable buzz since its premiere. This week, the reality show witnessed a double elimination. While Sunita Ahuja exited the competition due to health issues, Riyaz was evicted after receiving fewer audience votes, with Shreya Kalra surviving the elimination.
