Shekhar Suman (L) called Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt's (R) wedding a perfect example of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Actor and host Shekhar Suman took a jibe at actor Aamir Khan's third marriage during the latest episode of his show Shekhar Tonite. Shekhar mixed Bollywood references with political metaphors as he spoke about the actor's wedding to Gauri Spratt.

In the segment of his YouTube show, Shekhar referred to Aamir's earlier marriages to Reena Dutta and filmmaker Kiran Rao before joking about his latest wedding. Beginning his monologue, Shekhar praised Aamir before making a humorous remark at him. “This man has given a unique vision to several generations yet to come. And that vision is to chase something till you don't achieve it,” he said.

The Shekhar Tonite host then mentioned that Aamir's personal life could be a lesson for politicians. “Politicians, especially, should learn a lot from him. It's often said that politicians know how to form alliances. But they should learn the art of forming alliances with this man,” he added.

Taking the political comparison further, Shekhar said that after two unsuccessful “alliances”, the third one should be called a “mahagathbandhan” (grand alliance). “Our government can't run a double engine smoothly, and he's running a triple engine now,” he went on.

Shekhar continued his signature wordplay, cracking a joke to the audience, “Aapne Gauri ek minute gaur kia hoga,” before pivoting to another comparison. He likened Aamir Khan's personal life to a train journey, comparing it to an engine driver who continuously adds and removes bogeys at different stations before bringing them all together. Praising the actor's resilience and skill, Shekhar remarked, “His talent is unimaginable. He's unique,” adding that despite the complex mixture of fuels, “this engine hasn't ceased yet, and is smoothly running on the tracks towards a new destination.”

Shekhar went on to joke about the actor's latest milestone, emphasising, “Aamir Khan has formed the government for the third time with full majority. Is Aamir Khan the NDA government or what? Even PM Modi must be thinking that he just broke Nehru's record, and now he has a new competitor in Aamir Khan.” He also highlighted how the wedding was attended by children from Aamir's previous relationships, calling it a perfect example of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family),” before jokingly suggesting that the INDIA alliance should learn from the star on how to keep former allies together.

Ending the segment with a final punchline, Shekhar joked, “Now, I get why he's called the ‘perfectionist'. He continues to do something till he becomes perfect at it. As we all know, perfection ki koi seema nahi hoti... Seema chhodiye, koi Reena, koi Kiran nahi hoti.” Ultimately, his monologue on Shekhar Tonite centered on the actor's third marriage, successfully turning Aamir's personal milestones into a sharp string of political and family-themed jokes.

Aamir married Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony at his Bandra home on July 5. The wedding was attended by close family members, including their children from previous relationships. The actor had first confirmed his relationship with Gauri during his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025.

On the work front, Aamir has produced director Rajkumar Santoshi's partition-drama, Lahore 1947, featuring actors Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles. The film is set for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
