Heavy rain caused waterlogging and traffic congestion across several parts of Delhi. Traffic Police deployed personnel, rescued stranded vehicles and issued advisories to help commuters navigate affected routes safely.

Heavy rain continued to affect traffic across Delhi, leading to waterlogging, vehicle breakdowns and slow-moving traffic in several areas. Delhi Traffic Police remained on the ground throughout the day, assisting stranded motorists, clearing roads and issuing advisories to minimise disruption.
Officials also urged commuters to drive carefully, follow traffic instructions and use alternative routes wherever required.
TRAFFIC POLICE ASSIST STRANDED MOTORISTS
During the rainfall on July 8, traffic personnel from the Libaspur and Samay Pur Badli Circle in the Northern Range helped a tempo driver whose vehicle became stuck on a waterlogged road. The vehicle was safely moved, allowing traffic to resume.
At the busy ITO Red Light, traffic staff also responded quickly after a vehicle broke down in the middle of the intersection during peak hours. The vehicle was removed promptly, helping restore normal traffic flow despite the rain.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR NH-24
Delhi Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory after severe waterlogging was reported on NH-24 near Ghazipur. Officials said traffic movement on the highway was affected due to water accumulation, while personnel from the Traffic Police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) worked to clear the road.
Commuters travelling from Ghaziabad towards Delhi were advised to avoid the affected stretch and instead use the Sector 62–Vasundhara–Budh Chowk–Mohan Nagar route before entering Delhi through Seemapuri.

The Delhi Traffic Police also reported waterlogging at several locations across East Delhi. Dewatering operations were started immediately, while traffic personnel were deployed to manage vehicle movement and reduce congestion.
Authorities advised commuters to remain patient, drive slowly on flooded roads and follow instructions from traffic officials.
