Actor Khushi Kapoor is set to headline Mom 2, the sequel to the 2017 thriller Mom, with a theatrical release slated for November 2026. Produced by her father, Boney Kapoor, the film was shot extensively in Noida and Greece.

According to a report in the Free Press Journal, the sequel closely connects Khushi to one of Sridevi's most celebrated performances. As Mom marked Sridevi’s final screen appearance, this project allows Khushi to carry forward a legacy deeply cherished by both her and her late mother.

Having debuted as Betty in Zoya Akhtar's The Archies, Khushi faced early setbacks following the cold reception of projects like Naadaaniyan and Loveyapa. Consequently, Mom 2 is being viewed as a defining turning point in her acting career.

According to the report, a source who viewed early footage praised Khushi's growth, highlighting a marked improvement in her performance as she brings emotional depth to the thriller while displaying subtle shades of Sridevi.

The source added that the actor's dedicated portrayal showcases a more mature screen presence, potentially marking the beginning of a promising new phase in her career.
