Will break his fast with my own hands: Rakhi Sawant vows to meet Sonam Wangchuk
Rakhi Sawant appealed to Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike and said she would go to Jantar Mantar to help him break it. Her message came as support from other public figures grew and concern mounted over his worsening health.

Actor Rakhi Sawant has voiced support for educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and urged him to end his hunger stirke. Speaking about Wangchuk, Rakhi appealed to him to not risk his life and said she wanted to come to Jantar Mantar.
She also said she would go to Jantar Mantar and personally help him break his fast. Rakhi is among several public figures who have backed Wangchuk as concern over his health has grown during his indefinite hunger strike.
In her appeal, Rakhi said, "Please, Sonam ji, main request karti hoon. Main Dilli ana chahti hoon Jantar Mantar pe. Please yeh faltu logo ke liye apni jaan mat dijiye. Aap bahu keemti hain (( request you. I want to come to Delhi, to Jantar Mantar. Please do not give your life for these people. You are very precious)." Rakhi is currently in Mumbai.
When asked if she would go to Jantar Mantar, she said, "I will go to Jantar Mantar and personally help him break his fast."
Rakhi is the latest public figure to express support for Wangchuk as concerns over his health continue to mount.
Veteran actor Shabana Azmi has also appealed to Wangchuk to end his indefinite hunger strike, saying the country needs voices like his in the fight against injustice. In a note shared on social media, she urged him to prioritise his health and said his guidance continues to inspire students across the country.
Actor Swara Bhasker visited Jantar Mantar on Tuesday and met Wangchuk and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke. She also shared details of the visit on social media. Her message of solidarity came as appeals to end the strike intensified and concern over Wangchuk's health increased.
Actor Omi Vaidya, known for playing Chatur in 3 Idiots, was among the first Bollywood names to share a video in support of Wangchuk. In the clip, Vaidya said, "I don't want Phunsukh Wangdu to die," and asked viewers to pay attention to Wangchuk's health and the issues linked to his protest. He said Aamir Khan's character in 3 Idiots was based on Wangchuk and described him as a humble and impressive person. His post has gone viral.
The Cockroach Janta Party, which is leading the protest, has claimed that Wangchuk has lost nearly 9 kg since beginning his fast and that his health has worsened. The group has been protesting over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Rs 1 crore in compensation for the families of aspirants who allegedly died by suicide following the controversy.
