Producer Naga Vamsi says Lenin is Rs 61 crore strong, distributors in profit
Producer Naga Vamsi celebrated Lenin's box-office run with a note on its theatrical success. He said the film's biggest achievement was helping distributors and exhibitors recover quickly.

Producer Naga Vamsi has shared an emotional note celebrating the success of Akhil's Lenin, saying the film fulfilled the team's biggest objective of delivering a blockbuster while ensuring distributors and exhibitors benefited from its theatrical run.
Along with a poster claiming a worldwide gross of Rs 61.1 crore in three days, Vamsi reflected on the journey of the project, recalling that Manam Entertainments and Sithara Entertainments came together with one goal: to deliver a memorable success for Akhil Akkineni.
He revealed that ahead of the film's release, he and Nagarjuna consciously decided to price the theatrical rights responsibly across all territories. According to Vamsi, the idea was to ensure distributors and exhibitors who backed Lenin could recover their investments quickly and celebrate the film's success from its opening weekend.
Calling that decision the team's biggest achievement, the producer said nothing made him happier than seeing distributors recover their investments by the end of the first weekend and exhibitors celebrating packed theatres across several centres.
"For us, this is what success truly means, not just numbers, but shared happiness. A film succeeds only when everyone associated with it succeeds together," he wrote, while thanking audiences, distributors, exhibitors and every partner involved in the film's journey.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, Lenin has enjoyed a strong box-office run. According to Sacnilk, the film opened with an estimated Rs 8 crore nett on Day 1, followed by Rs 7.80 crore on Day 2. It registered its highest single-day collection on Sunday with Rs 9.65 crore, taking its three-day India nett total to Rs 25.45 crore and its estimated worldwide gross to Rs 37.07 crore. The upward trend on Day 3 suggests that positive word of mouth helped the film gather momentum over its opening weekend. The makers, however, claimed a worldwide gross of Rs 61.1 crore through their latest official box-office poster.
Written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin stars Akhil Akkineni, Bhagyashri Borse, Sivaji, Brahmaji, Easwari Rao and Sunil, with music by Thaman. The film released in theatres on July 10.
