"As an actor in the film industry for these many years, I have the goodwill to do something in return for all of you. Going forward, my path will not be an ordinary one. I will only go on a straightforward path, no shortcuts. I will take that route and ensure support for you in all areas," he said.

In 2017, the actor attempted to contest the RK Nagar Assembly by-election as an independent candidate after the release of Thupparivaalan. However, his nomination was rejected for not having the required number of proposers. Reacting to the decision, Vishal had called it a "mockery of democracy".
After Vijay formally launched his political party in 2024, Vishal clarified that he had no immediate plans to enter politics, though he did not completely rule out the possibility in the future.

"I am forever indebted to the people of Tamil Nadu who recognised me as an actor and social worker. From the beginning, I wanted my fan club to be more than just a fan association and instead work for the welfare of people in need," he had said.
The actor added that his next goal was to expand these efforts through a people's welfare movement across districts and constituencies. He also highlighted the work carried out through the Devi Foundation, named after his mother, including financial assistance to underprivileged students and support for farmers.
"I have never expected political gains while indulging in welfare activities. If nature demands, then I will not hesitate to speak for the people in future," he had added.
On the work front, Vishal is gearing up for the release of his directorial debut Magudam, which is scheduled to hit theatres in August. He will also be seen in Sundar C's Purushan, co-starring Tamannaah and Yogi Babu. The film marks another collaboration between Vishal and Sundar C after Aambala and Action.
