Man slips while getting off moving train, RPF constable saves him inches from death
Railway officials said that the man attempted to disembark from a moving train at Jhansi's Veerangna Laxmibai Railway Station. However, he lost his balance and began slipping into the gap between the train and the platform.

A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable's quick reflexes saved a passenger from being crushed under a moving train after he slipped while trying to get off a train at Jhansi's Veerangna Laxmibai Railway Station late on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred as the Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Express began departing from the platform following its scheduled halt. Railway officials said that the passenger attempted to disembark from a moving sleeper coach but lost his balance and began slipping into the gap between the train and the platform.
At that moment, RPF constable Praveen Kumar, who was on duty at that time, rushed towards the passenger and pulled him to safety. CCTV footage from the station showed the constable sprinting towards the man and dragging him away from the moving train within seconds, preventing what could have been a fatal accident.
Railway officials said the rescued passenger was left in shock after the incident. RPF personnel attended to him, gave him water and helped him recover before identifying him as Ramesh Jain, 42, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
Jhansi Railway Division Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar said the passenger lost his balance while trying to get off the departing coach and was on the verge of falling into the gap between the platform and the moving train when Praveen Kumar intervened.
He said passenger safety remains the Railways' top priority and described the constable's alertness and courage as an example of the RPF's commitment to protecting passengers.
